Charming Rebecca Keatley of Let’s Play fame really can do no wrong*, as she follows the trials and tribulations of reception class children at two schools: one inner-city school in Birmingham and the other small school split between two sites and at the mercy of the tides round Holy Island. It’s pretty warts’n’all filming, and some of the kids and teachers are unintentionally hilarious. Curiously the BBC chose two schools with almost identical uniforms, which doesn’t help with visual differentiation between them, though not quite so many of the Brummy kids bring their reindeer to school so there are some clues along the way. For little fans of Topsy and Tim, Woolly and Tig and other ‘reality style’ programming this really is a treat.
