The nearest thing CBeebies has to a new Play School, at least since Tikkabilla got taken off the air. Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee are old hands at this sort of thing, and it shows: this gentle, reassuring programme engages its viewers in singing, dancing and imaginative play, with the help of assorted nursery rhyme characters and an engaging bunch of stuffed toys. Tremendous fun, from start to finish. — James
We can’t really avoid mentioning fluttering-kite-gate here, now can we? The story is that on Wednesday 7th September 2016, almost three years after initial broadcast, some silly sod decided to accuse Chris “I don’t even know any naughty words, FFS!” Jarvis of having dropped the so-called c-bomb on an episode of Show Me Show Me. The song clearly went: “Imagine, imagine, imagine, you’re a fluttering kite”, yet the daft troublemaking cow interpreted the slightly mumbled ‘kite’ as something far more offensive, made a video with auto-suggestive subtitling and went to the tabloid press with her viral scandal. Yet far from being shocked, she thought it was hilarious. At IKTV we just hope Chris Jarvis thinks so too. — David
