Dinopaws

CG-animated fun about three young dinosaurs exploring the surface of a recently-formed planet (ostensibly prehistoric Earth, actually a world called Marge in a distant constellation). Gwen (Amanda Abbington) is boisterous, impulsive and endearingly egotistical, Bob (Bob Golding) is thoughtful and reliable, and Tony (Keith Wickham) speaks mostly in indecipherable gibberish. Ostensibly establishing a parent / child dynamic, the dinopaws climb hills, encounter strange objects (eggs, rocks, snowballs) and occasionally other creatures much like them. The series plays with language in much the same way as Bing, the animation is crisp and clear, and the writing – despite a couple of dodgy episodes late in the run – is consistently top notch. Look out for the double-length Christmas episode, which is perfect for those cold winter nights. — James
